11 Reasons Your Website Gets Traffic But No Enquiries
The most common reasons visitors arrive, look around and leave without contacting you.

Last month: 1,200 sessions. Four phone calls. So the instinct kicks in, buy more traffic, throw money at ads, publish another six blog posts. Wrong instinct, almost always. The 11 reasons your website gets traffic but no enquiries live in the gap between the click and the contact form, not anywhere upstream of it.
Every month we pull apart websites across Islamabad and Rawalpindi, and honestly, the same eleven faults keep turning up. They're listed below roughly in the order they'd appear in a written audit, and each one comes with a check you can run before lunch.
Traffic Is Not The Problem, Your Conversion Rate Usually Is
Do the sums first. Take 1,000 sessions a month converting at 0.5 percent and you've got five enquiries. Same thousand people, 3 percent conversion, thirty enquiries. The traffic never moved. Only the page did.
| Monthly sessions | Conversion rate | Enquiries per month | What it costs to change |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | 0.5% | 5 | Baseline |
| 1,000 | 1% | 10 | A few page edits |
| 1,000 | 3% | 30 | Structured CRO work |
| 2,000 | 0.5% | 10 | Double the SEO or ad spend |
Twice the traffic means months of grind and a much bigger bill. Twice the conversion rate is often a fortnight of tight, focused edits. That's exactly why our conversion rate optimisation and marketing services begin with the pages sitting on your site right now.
Reason 1: You Are Ranking For Browsers, Not Buyers
Informational keywords pull in readers. Commercial ones pull in money. Rank for "types of interior design styles" and you'll collect design students and bored scrollers. Rank for "interior designer in DHA Islamabad" and you get people with a house and a budget.
- Signs: sessions look fine, time on page looks fine, the phone stays quiet
- Check: open Search Console, sort queries by clicks, then label each one buyer or browser
- Fix: build proper service and location pages for the commercial terms, leave the guides doing top of funnel work
Reason 2: Nobody Can Find Your Number Or WhatsApp On Mobile
In the twin cities, people read on a phone and message on WhatsApp long before email crosses their mind. Bury your number in the footer as plain text and you're asking a stranger to hunt for it. They won't bother.
- Tap to call number sitting in the header, visible before anyone scrolls
- WhatsApp button that opens the chat with a message already typed in
- The number repeated after every major section, not tucked in once and forgotten
- Written as real selectable text, never flattened into an image
Reason 3: Your Pages Never Say What You Actually Do
Vision. Passion. Excellence. Three paragraphs of it before anyone learns what the business actually sells. We open homepages like this most weeks. A visitor gives you maybe five seconds to confirm they've landed in the right place.
Say the service, say the city, add one bit of proof, and do it in the first line above the fold. Something like "Orthodontic clinic in F-7, Islamabad. Same week appointments." That one sentence beats any mission statement ever written.
Reason 4: Your Google Business Profile Sends People Somewhere Useless
Local search here runs through Maps, plain and simple. Somebody spots you in the map pack, taps through, and lands on a homepage with no address, no list of services, nothing resembling a booking path. The map pack held up its end. The website threw it away.
- Send the Google Business Profile link to the relevant service page rather than defaulting to the homepage
- Make sure profile categories line up with the headings on whatever page they land on
- Keep opening hours identical in both spots, Ramadan timings included
Reason 5: The Form Asks For Far Too Much
Each extra field quietly costs you leads. Nine field monsters turn up all the time in audits, wanting company name, budget bracket, project timeline and how the visitor heard about you. That isn't an enquiry form. That's a job interview.
Three fields do the job: name, phone or WhatsApp, and a small message box. Qualify people on the call. Nobody minds answering budget questions once they're already speaking to you.
Reason 6: Your Site Crawls On A Local Mobile Connection
Office fibre lies to you. Go and load your homepage on mobile data in G-11 at six in the evening, that's the real test. Chunky sliders, hero images nobody compressed and four tracking scripts will push you past the point where people just close the tab.
- Squash every image and serve modern formats
- Bin the sliders and carousels, they almost never earn their keep
- Strip out plugins and third party embeds you can't justify out loud

Reason 7: There Is No Reason To Pick You Over The Next Tab
Three competitor sites are open right beside yours. When all four pages promise "quality service, experienced team, affordable rates", the choice collapses down to cheapest or closest.
Detail wins. How fast you reply, what the warranty covers, who physically does the work, how long you've been at it, what week one actually looks like. Concrete beats adjectives, every single time.
Reason 8: Your Pricing Page Does Not Exist
Buyers in Islamabad watch price closely and they'll tell you so. Give them zero pricing signal and you're asking them to enquire completely blind. Most of them just won't. Off they go to the competitor who at least published a starting figure.
A full rate card isn't required. A "from PKR" range, or one worked example of a typical project, quietly filters out the tyre kickers while giving serious buyers permission to reach out. That's the whole reason our marketing retainer pricing sits out in the open.
Reason 9: Trust Signals Are Missing Entirely
Faceless websites don't convert. When a visitor can't work out who's actually behind the business, the brain fills the gap with risk.
- A genuine street or sector reference, even if you work across a service area
- Real people with real photos, not stock shots of some office in Frankfurt
- Registration details, tax number or professional memberships where they apply
- Recent Google reviews pulled straight onto the page
Reason 10: Nobody Is Answering The Enquiries You Already Get
This one hurts to write. A business swore blind their website was broken, and we found eleven weeks of form submissions sitting unopened in a spam folder. Another had a WhatsApp line being watched by a staff member who resigned back in March.
- Fill in your own form and confirm the email lands somewhere a human opens daily
- Ring your listed number from a mobile nobody recognises and time how long it takes
- Message the WhatsApp line at 8pm on a Saturday, then see what happens
- Find out whether missed calls ever get returned the next morning
Reply speed is the cheapest lever in lead generation, full stop. Five minutes converts dramatically better than tomorrow afternoon.
Reason 11: You Have No Tracking, So You Are Guessing
Calls, WhatsApp taps and form fills need to be recorded as events in Analytics. Without that, you've no idea which pages actually produce qualified leads. So you polish the wrong pages and switch off the channel that was quietly paying for itself.
- Track form submissions, tap to call clicks and WhatsApp clicks as three separate things
- Log the channel and landing page behind every enquiry, a spreadsheet is fine
- Report on enquiries and jobs won, not sessions and impressions
How We Diagnose This For Islamabad And Rawalpindi Businesses
Nobody talks about a monthly retainer until the written audit is done. Query intent in Search Console, mobile behaviour on real local connections, the Google Business Profile setup, friction in the form, response times, tracking, all of it gets checked, then ranked by how many enquiries each fix is likely to bring back.
Most sites need three or four of the eleven above. Not eleven. Working out which three is what saves you half a year.
Find Out Which Reasons Apply To Your Site
Eleven fixes aren't what you need. You need to know which three are quietly costing you enquiries, and which order to tackle them in. Every strategy call comes with a straight read on traffic quality, your conversion path and your Google Business Profile, no obligation, and no retainer pitch until the written audit is in your hands.

Frequently asked questions
Why does my website get traffic but no enquiries?
Nine times out of ten it's the wrong sort of traffic, or a page that gives people no simple way to act. Browser intent keywords, hidden phone numbers, bloated forms and sluggish mobile loading are the culprits we keep finding in audits across Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
What is a good conversion rate for a local business website?
Service business chasing local search? Somewhere between 2 and 5 percent of visitors making contact is healthy. Drop under 1 percent and the problem sits with the page, the offer or the contact options, not with how many people are showing up.
How long does it take to fix a website that gets no leads?
Quick wins move fast. Adding a WhatsApp button, cutting the form down, repointing the Google Business Profile link, those usually show something inside two to four weeks. Reworking keyword intent and page structure runs longer, two to three months before qualified leads clearly lift.
Does Google Business Profile matter more than SEO in Islamabad?
One doesn't cancel out the other. That said, the map pack drives a huge slice of local enquiries in this city. A tidy Google Business Profile aimed at a strong landing page tends to ring the phone sooner than organic rankings on their own.
Should I put prices on my website?
Usually yes, even if it's just a starting range in PKR or one worked example. Being upfront kills off wasted enquiries and hands serious buyers the confidence to contact you rather than the firm down the road who published a number.
How much should I spend to improve my conversion rate?
Sorting conversion problems costs far less than buying more visitors. One focused round of CRO work runs at a fraction of doubling your ad budget, and every visitor who arrives afterwards benefits from it.
